Located in the Barak river valley in Southern Assam, the sanctuary also houses indigenous people who have been leading a nature integrated lifestyle and are keen to showcase their native culture and traditional practices. ABOUT THE PROJECT

Indiranagar Eco Development Committee

Indiranagar Ecodevelopment Committee (EDC) was constituted in partnership with Assam forest Department, Cachar forest Division, to improve the livelihood opportunities and generate revenue along with aiding conservation and ecological values of the unique Borail Wildlife Sanctuary.

Our purpose
• Our main objective is to bring about a confluence of Conservation, Communities and sustainable tourism.
• We aim to offer authentic, enriching Natural & Cultural and experiences to both visitors and hosts.
• We hope to adopt low impact tourism that provides financial benefits for conservation along with improving the welfare of local communities.
• We resolve to Protect Wilderness and ecological integrity of the surrounding area by building a sustainable business model that takes into account socio-cultural integrity as well.
